Where Young Performers Begin
The early years matter. Children between 3 and 8 are wired to sing, move, pretend, and play, and the right training turns that natural energy into real skills that last a lifetime. Little LyriCans is LyriCo’s early childhood program, purpose-built classes in voice, dance, acting, and first instruments, taught by our professional faculty in a joyful, structured environment. LyriCo is Gainesville’s conservatory for the performing arts, and Little LyriCans brings that same standard to our youngest students. Classes are kept intentionally small, every child performs, and the whole experience is designed around one idea: serious foundations can still be seriously fun.

Every Little LyriCans class is matched to a developmental stage, so your child is always learning alongside peers at the same level.
Ages 3 to 4 begin with Pre-LyriCans Dance, a 45 minute introduction to movement, rhythm, and following along in a class.
Ages 5 to 6 step into our Little LyriCans Theatre Classes in voice, dance, and acting. Each class is 45 minutes, and families can build from one class per week up to a full performing arts schedule. Tuition is based on how many weekly classes your child takes, so mixing disciplines is easy.
Ages 5 to 8 can begin an instrument in Little LyriCans First Notes, our 30 minute small group classes in drums, piano, and ukulele, capped at just 3 students per class.

When students grow beyond Little LyriCans, they move seamlessly into our Theatre Track and group classes for ages 7 and up, so the training never has to stop.
Little LyriCans Theatre Classes , Ages 5 to 6
Choose One or Build a Schedule
- Little LyriCans Voice: Young voices learn to sing together. Students build pitch, breath, and confidence through songs, games, and group singing led by our faculty.
- Little LyriCans Dance: Foundational movement, rhythm, and beginning choreography in a structured and encouraging environment. Real dance training, sized for small dancers.
- Little LyriCans Acting: Imagination becomes craft. Students explore storytelling, character play, and speaking with confidence in front of others.
Little LyriCans First Notes , Ages 5 to 8
A Child's First Instrument, Done Right
- Drums: Rhythm, coordination, and energy. Students learn beats, sticking, and how to play together.
- Piano: An introduction to the piano in a small group setting. Students learn note reading, technique, and their first songs.
- Ukulele: The perfect first instrument for small hands. Students learn chords, strumming, and songs they can play at home.
- Every First Notes class is 30 minutes, capped at 3 students, and includes the first three method books.

What ages are Little LyriCans classes for?
Pre-LyriCans Dance serves ages 3 to 4. Little LyriCans Theatre Classes in voice, dance, and acting serve ages 5 to 6. Little LyriCans First Notes classes in drums, piano, and ukulele serve ages 5 to 8.
How big are the classes?
Small by design. First Notes is capped at 3 students per class. All Little LyriCans classes are kept intentionally small so every child gets real attention from our faculty.
Can I stay during class?
You are welcome to relax in our lobby during class, and many parents love watching their child walk out beaming.
Do Little LyriCans perform?
Yes. Performance is part of training at LyriCo. Little LyriCans students have performance opportunities throughout the year, on a real stage, for their families.
What if we miss a class?
For Little LyriCans Theatre Classes and Pre-LyriCans Dance, makeup credits are available for 30 days after a missed class and are easy to book through your MyLyriCo portal. Makeup credits are not available for Little LyriCans First Notes classes.
What happens when my child outgrows Little LyriCans?
They keep going. Little LyriCans graduates move into our Theatre Track, group classes, and private lessons for ages 7 and up. The skills, the friendships, and the love of performing all carry forward.
Do you offer a family discount?
Yes. With our Family Member Discount, your first enrolled student stays at full price and every additional student in your household receives 10 percent off their tuition.
