About our Music Production Program
Bring your musical ideas to life. At LyriCo Conservatory, our Music Production program introduces students to the world of creating, recording, and producing music in a hands-on, one-on-one setting. Whether you’re interested in songwriting, recording vocals, making beats, composing for film or video games, or producing your own original music, this program provides the tools to get started.
Students learn industry-standard production techniques while developing creativity, collaboration, and confidence. Lessons explore digital audio workstations (DAWs), beat creation, MIDI programming, virtual instruments, recording techniques, editing, mixing, and the fundamentals of music production. Every student works on original projects and gains practical experience producing professional-quality recordings.
Music Production is offered as private lessons, with instruction tailored to each student’s age, experience, and musical interests, from complete beginners to developing musicians. Students who sing or play instruments will also learn how to record themselves, create accompaniment tracks, and produce polished audition recordings or original songs.
Whether your goal is to become a music producer, create your own songs, compose for media, or simply discover a new creative outlet, LyriCo’s Music Production program provides the skills and confidence to turn your musical ideas into reality.

Bennie Radford brings a vibrant blend of performance experience and dedicated teaching to the LyriCo Conservatory voice faculty. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Music Technology, Vocal Performance, and Theatre from the University of St. Francis in Joliet, Illinois. Bennie has performed in professional and community theatre across Illinois, New York, and Florida, with credits including Once Upon a Mattress, You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, Ragtime, and Little Shop of Horrors.As an instructor, Bennie works with singers of all ages and skill levels, helping them prepare for musical theatre auditions, worship performances, and confident, healthy vocal growth. His warm and encouraging teaching style, grounded in real world stage experience, equips students with the tools they need to thrive on stage and beyond.
FAQ
How old does my child have to be to start taking music lessons?
Music lessons are great at any age! But we focus on primary instruments starting at around 5.
Do I need to stay for my child’s lesson?
You are welcome to drop off your child and return a few minutes before their lesson is done! If you would like to sit in on your child’s music class, we always have an open door policy and you are free to sit in at any time.
How long does it take to learn music production?
There is no set answer for how long it takes to learn music production. With consistent weekly lessons, most students are producing their own original tracks within the first few months. Most of our students take lessons on a long term basis because they want to be constantly improving and they find the lessons enjoyable.
How many students in each group class.
Classes range from 5- 8 students. Class size varies to make sure all students get individual attention.

Do you have any performances?
Yes we do! For music students, we have two big events every year (typically one in the winter, and one in late spring). We also offer smaller performance opportunities throughout the year as well.
