About our Intro to Voice Program
Intro to Voice is an 8-week group course for beginners who want to focus on their own voice—not a choir. Each student works on solo singing, learning healthy vocal technique, breath control, and performance skills tailored to the songs they personally want to sing. This class is designed to help you build the skills and confidence to perform the music you love and prepare for more advanced group lessons.
- Week 1 – Breath Support: Learn diaphragmatic breathing and how to control airflow for steady, healthy singing.
- Week 2 – Posture & Alignment: Develop body awareness to create an open, relaxed, and efficient singing position.
- Week 3 – Tone Production: Explore resonance, vocal placement, and how to produce a clear, beautiful tone.
- Week 4 – Range extension, and song selection: Know and expand your range, but feel comfrotable with your song choices.
- Week 5 – Diction & Articulation: Practice clear consonants and pure vowels so lyrics are expressive and easy to understand.
- Week 6 – Expression & Interpretation: Learn to add emotion, dynamics, and storytelling to your singing.
- Week 7 – Performance Skills: Build confidence in stage presence, and solo delivery
- Week 8 - Put it together in a song: Use all the skills you have learned to put a solo performance for your classmates.
FAQ
How old does my child have to be to start taking music lessons?
Music lessons are great at any age! But we focus on primary instruments starting at around 5.
Do you offer instrument rentals?
Yes we do! Most of our instrument rentals are $25 a month, or $35 a month if you need an amplifier. No security deposit, but a minimum 2 month rental to give you time to pick the perfect instrument for you with the help of your teacher.
Do I need to stay for my child’s lesson?
You are welcome to drop off your child and return a few minutes before their lesson is done! If you would like to sit in on your child’s music class, we always have an open door policy and you are free to sit in at any time.
How long does it take to learn an instrument?
There is no set answer of how long it takes to learn an instrument. With regular practice, a basic level of playing can be accomplished in a few months. Most of our students take lessons on a long term basis because they want to be constantly improving and they find the lessons enjoyable.
How many students in each group class.
Classes range from 5- 8 students. Class size varies to make sure all students get individual attention.
Can I watch group classes?
Due to space constraints, and for all the student to feel a sense of community, we do not allow individuals other than participants be in the room during the time of the lesson.
How much do classes cost? What's included?
You can see our tuition Here
All books, level wristbands, and access to our knowledge base and scheduling software are included.
Do you have any perfomances?
Yes we do! For music students, we have two big events every year (typically one in the winter, and one in late spring). We also offer smaller performance opportunities throughout the year as well.
